Stock Photography

Posted 17 March, 2008 in Other Stuff

As an illustrator I have never been that interested in photography, but having children changes all that. I recently purchased a Fjufilm S9600, a middle of the road camera. Better than a compact yet easier than a pro SLR type thing (see I am so new at this).

I have to say that I am thrilled with the results. The camera has so many settings, but if you just want to take a quick shot “Auto” is fantastic.

On a whim, I decided to see if www.shutterstock.com would accept my experimental shots and incredibly they accepted all three that I sent them. A day later and I find that I have even sold three!

As a result I have decided to some on this site for free use as with my illustrations. Remember to link back to this site or make a payment should you use them.

Free Photoshop Shapes

Posted 14 March, 2008 in Other Stuff

If you are looking for free Photoshop Shapes Mike here has a nice selection. Not 10,000 as he claims but still a lot.

If you download his photosho shapes, you need to put them in the \Presets\Custom Shapes folder under photoshop.

Shapes are very handy when designing if you can’t be bothered to knock something up in Illustrator or Flash.
