Nintendo Wii Wii

I am waiting for the next generation Wii. The Wii Wii.

If I get a Wii now I just going to get pissed off. Nintendo will announce the release date for the Wii Wii the day after I got my Wii, and the price of a Wii will drop by half over night. I want a Wii but I know I will be ripped off and then want a Wii Wii.

How about an X-box? They already did a next generation X-box, but they did not call it the XX-box. They where thinking ahead. If they called it an XX-box then the third generation would just get awkward. The demographics would alter from teenagers to confused ageing men, and the letters of complaint would rocket. They are smart at Microsoft. Stay away from more than one X.

I suppose I could get a Sony Play Station. Oh what the hell. Lets have a Wii Wii, an XXX-Box and lets say… a Sony Play Boy.

Super by eRightSoft

Super by eRightSoft is a free video conversion package.

It is perfect for converting your DVDs, AVIs etc to just about any other video format. With DVRs (Digital Video Recorder) becoming more popular this package is great for moving your vids to the new format.

You will probably find that your DVDs are protected from copying and you will just have to get around that using something like DVDFab Decrypter. Please note that I am against piracy but making copies of DVDs you own, I do not have a problem with. How else are you going to put them on your DVR?

It is also very simple. Just drag the file to the prog, change the setting and run.

Best of all… It is free free free!

Sumvision Zengo

ZengoI just bought one of these devices. It is a 3.5″ DVR or so it says on the case.

It is a hard dive (320gb in this case) in a case. The case is clever in that it not only acts as an externat Hard Drive for your computer but you can also hook it up to a TV and both view or listen to media files and record video or TV.

The theory is great. The problem is that mine does not work. There sems to be a problem with the firmware. It works fine as an external drive o my PC but when I hook it up to the TV I just get a corrupted version of the graphics that you see on the packaging and promo.

Very sad as I was looking forward to getting all my videos and music on to it and shoing it off to others.

Guess where it was made? Oh yes. China. It was cheap and Chinese, and so either does not work, or breaks after one day. The manual was that typical idiotic tranmslation where you get english words mixed up by some computer translation into something totaly illogical.

An example, the chapter is on updating the Firmware and step 7 reads:

7) According to pointing out finishing progressively, upgrade movements.

WTF?

So not only is it broken, there is fuck all I can do about it by reading the manual.

As for upgrading the firmware, there is none! None to be found anywhere on the net.

Oh well. What else do I know?

The device is the size and shape of any other HD cases and is in fact well built with a nice solid feel to it. I know. Chinese and solid? Yes it is true. It does not work but it is a very nice object.

Apparently recording is not so good as it skips frames. It also uses FAT32 so your files can be no larger than 4gb. This is not so bad in that most movies in Divx or xvid format will be around 700mb. I read somewhere that files are split after 1 hour when recording so movies will be split into 2 or 3 files.

One nice feature is that it can take SD cards too. This is great if you want to keep the device by your television and transfer files from your PC, or from any PC.

I got it on ebay.co.uk from seller tmsuppliesuk who have 100% feedback with over 32000 feedbacks. So it looks as though I should not have any trouble getting a replacement. Do you think they will pay for the return postage? We shall see.

Find out more about video conversion.

I will write more when I get it replaced.

I have no stamina

I thought I might be clever and use this site or one like it to gather up all the latest news from the mobile phone industry and put it in one blog. I did it for 1 day and got bored.

I have a Nokia e61. It is great. It makes calls. Thats that. I guess I just need to find another interest that will keep me going longer than 1 day.

Sex porn and hardcore all free

Sorry to do this to you but this is an experiment in web traffic. I need to find out how many hits a page with this title would get after a certain amount of time.

Sex is fun. Porn is an age old industry. Hardcore is showing all the bits and hiding nothing. No imagination needed I guess. Free is cool.

Now hit that back button!

Leading a major mobile handset company which is also a joint venture between two of the world’s great companies has been a wonderful and rewarding experience. The belief amongst shareholders, employees, customers and suppliers in the potential of Sony Ericsson has been a huge motivating factor in the company’s success to date. He transfers the leadership of a business that is poised for significant further growth in the years to come.”

Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation, and a member of the Board of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, said, “We will miss Miles Flint enormously, but fully respect his wish to change direction. Today Sony Ericsson’s position as a leading player in the global mobile handset industry is unquestioned.” He added, “I am delighted that Dick Komiyama, an esteemed colleague and international executive who has worked shoulder to shoulder with me at Sony Electronics in the USA and Sony in Japan will carry on the vision of Katsumi Ihara, Sony Ericsson’s first president, and of Miles Flint. With longstanding experience in the areas of consumer electronics marketing and business-to-business sales, Dick has accepted the challenge to lead Sony Ericsson in the next phase of its growth and development.”

Dick Komiyama said, “I am very pleased to be joining Sony Ericsson. The global mobile handset industry is facing some very interesting and exciting developments, especially with the convergence of audio and video technologies in the mobile communications space. Capture and share life’s precious moments: The new Sony Ericsson K770 Cyber-shot™ phone

14 August 2007

  • Slimline Cyber-shot™ phone
    Just 14.5 mm thin
  • Your camera always with you
3.2 megapixel camera with Photo fix
  • Your memories shared
Easy printing to A4 size and fast sharing over on-line picture gallery

London, 14th August 2007. Sony Ericsson’s new K770 Cyber-shot™ phone, announced today, is a digital camera, a photo album and an elegant phone all in-one. Still a phone first and foremost, it allows you to send and share your photos as soon as you’ve taken them.
At just 14.5mm slim and finished in a fashionable Truffle Brown, the K770 can take pictures as good as a standalone digital camera; pictures can be printed up to A4 size. The camera can also be used for video and comes with a powerful photo light for indoor photo-taking and filming. As with all Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot™ phones, ‘ease of use’ sits at the heart of the experience. To take a picture, just slide open the lens cover, find your subject and shoot.

“The best moments in life always seem to happen when you don’t have a camera,” says Helene Barnekow, Head of Central Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “If you like the idea of having a snapshot camera on your phone, and want shots that look good in your family album, then the K770 is perfect.” Barnekow continues, “The real beauty of the K770 is that you can let your friends and family share your experiences. Once you’ve captured the moment, it’s easy to print the picture or upload it immediately to your personal on-line gallery.”

Great results
Capturing the perfect picture is easy with the K770 Cyber-shot™ phone. Just slide open the lens cover and you’re ready. Once in camera mode the 1.9inch screen becomes the viewfinder, the Cyber-shot™ based menu becomes visible and you’ll also see eight lit icons appear across the phones keypad. These serve as 1-click shortcuts to each of the camera’s key functions, such as picture size and photo light.

If you take a spontaneous snapshot and the light conditions are poor, simply select Photo fix for PC-free photo editing on your phone.

Shared instantly
The most direct way to share your photos is perhaps through a slide show on the K770’s screen. When you want to show them to people that are not around, though, you can post your pictures to your own ‘blogsite’ or on-line gallery. Share the web site address to share your photos.

If you want to transfer photos swiftly from the K770 Cyber-shot™ phone to your PC or laptop, then simply use the USB Cable provided in-box to drag and drop them from one to the other. Alternatively, if you prefer to print your pictures, the 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus delivers picture quality that is good enough to print your photo out at upto A4 size (297mm x 210 mm). You can even connect your K770 direct to a printer using PictBridge™ for PC-free printing.

Expect more
The K770 is about much more than just camera features. Supporting Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™), the K770 comes with a 256 MB memory card that lets you store up to 200 photos of the best quality. Peruse your photo album whilst listening to your favourite music tracks on the in-built media player. Or tune in to the FM radio with RDS that seeks out clear reception when you’re on-the-move.

With all of this music at your fingertips, it’s worth investing in a Stereo Bluetooth Headset that will stream music wirelessly from your phone and let you enjoy your favourite songs hands-free. The Stereo Bluetooth™ Headset HBH-DS200 can be auto-paired with the K770 and offers up to 6 hours of talktime or music listening time.

The K770 Cyber-shot™ phone is all about understated style. It’s a discreet, grown-up looking phone that slips neatly into your pocket or bag. Yet when you need it there is a digital camera on-board that can give results as good as you expect from a digital camera.

The K770 is a GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 and UMTS 2100 phone that will be available in Truffle Brown in selected markets from autumn 2007.

Nokia answers convergence call with Nokia 6301 UMA phone

Nokia 6301Nokia answers convergence call with Nokia 6301 UMA phone
September 20, 2007

Espoo, Finland - With a sleek stainless steel design, the Nokia 6301 phone launched today is not only stylish, but offers consumers seamless voice and data mobility across GSM cellular and WLAN networks via Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) technology. The Nokia 6301 phone uses UMA technology to integrate the benefits of landline and a mobile phone, including seamless indoor coverage, sound quality and affordability.

“The convergence of mobile and fixed/land-line technologies means consumers are looking for products that can help make their lives easier,” said Peter Ropke, Senior Vice President, Mobile Phones, Nokia. “With the Nokia 6301 utilizing UMA technology, worldwide triband GSM coverage is combined with superior indoor WLAN coverage to create a device that people can use in virtually any situation.

With UMA technology, the consumer can use the GSM network or a broadband Internet-connected WLAN network for mobile services. This can ensure excellent indoor coverage both at office and home. The consumer can have one multi-mode handset that works everywhere with enhanced and easy-to-use voice services. And, WLAN/UMA provides excellent coverage and sound quality, even in areas where mobile phone reception has previously been poor.

With UMA technology, the Nokia 6301 benefits operators as well, allowing them to deliver voice and data services to subscribers over WLAN, substantially increasing mobile service availability while decreasing the costs related to network deployment.

Orange will be one of the first operators to offer the Nokia 6301, as part of its Unik/Unique portfolio.

Yves Maitre, Senior Vice President, Devices, Orange said “The Nokia 6301 is a stylish new addition to our Unik range of converged fixed and mobile phones. Orange’s Unik offer brings together the convenience of a single phone and tariff at home and on the move and the widest range of UMA handsets. The Nokia 6301, with its sleek candy bar design and attractive stainless steel exterior adds to the appeal of Unik for Orange customers.”

The Nokia 6301 is an evolution of the modern monoblock design. Weighing a mere 93 grams and measuring less than 13.1mm thin, the Nokia 6301 is constructed of quality materials. To accompany the UMA technology, the Nokia 6301 also offers consumers a modern suite of features, including a 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and full screen viewfinder. Ideal for home and office, the Nokia 6301 comes with an attractive desk stand, the Nokia Desk Stand DT-23, to hold the phone and keep its battery charged while connected to WLAN.

The clean lines and recessed buttons of the Nokia 6301 are highlighted by a stainless steel frame with hand-hugging curves. In addition, the Nokia 6301 includes:

- 2-inch QVGA screen

- USB/PC Synchronization

- Internal user memory of 30MB and 128MB in-box microSD card, with support for up to 4GB microSD cards

- Voice dialing, voice commands and voice recording

- MP3 player, FM radio

- Integrated hands-free speaker

The Nokia 6301 has a talk-time of up to 3.5 hours and a standby time of up to 14 days. The Nokia 6301 is expected to begin shipping to select markets in Europe during the fourth quarter of 2007 with an estimated retail price of 230 euros before subsidies or taxes.
